Princely state Bahawalpur joined Pakistan right after the fifth day of independence. Nawab sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi V played an important role in stabilizing the economy and armed power of Pakistan. Nawabs  noble family is highly respected in Pakistan because of their generosity, kindness and devotion for this motherland.

 

Noor mahal is one of the amazing architectural work out of Nawabs legacy. It was declared as “Historical monument” in September 2001 by the Government of Pakistan's Department of Archaeology, Now a days it is now open for visitors, students trips and state guests. Apart from its historical perspective Noor Mahal is getting popularity among public because of its “Light and Sound show” which was started in 2017. On every Saturday a large crowed of Bahawalpur and tourist from outside refresh their souls by watching live colorful and peaceful sound of this show.

A large no of old things which includes old swords, old currency notes and coins, old laws that were made in that time, an old piano that Nawabs used to play, old furniture used by Nawabs etc are placed there for attracting peoples mind. A souvenirs shope containing local hand made cultural things are also available for tourists.
